Light Swap

Behold.

My new light (which actually came in from a Crate and Barrel sale about a month ago) is finally up!  It goes with the mid-century mod feel of the house so much better than the old life.

You can also see some of my fall stuff that I finally dragged out.

Anyone else behind on fall decs?

Bathroom Update

*Apparently my last post is an indication of how scatterbrained I'm feeling because I just noticed that I had already posted my wreath in early September! (Sigh.)*

This is going to be a photo dump of all the recent bathroom pictures.  It's *mostly* finished except that I need to hang a shelf to get the knick knacks off of the toilet.  Oh and we need a new trashcan.

Still in love with this subway tile.  Swoon!

Also, yes that is an outdoor light above the mirror and we love it! We've gotten a ton of compliments on it.

Can't decide if I'm going to paint that "M" or not.  Any thoughts?  That airplane picture is a transplant from the living room.  It was a housewarming gift from my college roomie.  It also got a face lift when I spray painted its mat bumblebee yellow.

Two things about this picture.

One: I love my Happy Chic Jonathan Adler rug from his JC Penney's collection link to it here.

Two: Check out our newly painted/glazed/I'm-not-sure-what-the-proper-terminology-is tub! It was blue before, people! Now it's bright, shiny white and we love it.

Happy Fall Everyone!

It's been quite a while since my last post. I'm knee deep in IEPs, ISPs, and evaluations. School is also keeping me busy with the addition of another building on Wednesdays and Fridays, meaning I'm squeezing my entire building into 3 days (which is not working out well!)  Oh well, at least the kids at my new school are super well-behaved.

With all the school stuff going on, I feel like September and now October have absolutely flown. I'm off for the next couple days and looking forward to finally getting my fall decorations out. This wreath is as far as I've gotten-lol. I like the way it helps integrate the brick with the yellow door. Happy fall y'all!

Guest Bath Update

We have walls!

And one coat of "Intense White" Benjamin Moore paint.

Still waiting on the shower and floor tiles, plus tub staining. It's finally feeling like a room again!

Bathroom Inspiration

As you can see from a previous post, we're already knee-deep in our guest bathroom renovation.  Truth be told, I'll actually miss the blue tile.  Had it not been cracked in several locations, we probably would have kept it. Too bad so sad.

Anyways, I've been saving bathroom inspiration pictures on Pinterest for quite awhile hoping that they would come in handy.  Take a look.

Barn Lights from Lowes, $39.98

What I like: galvanized sconces lights (we purchased the same one from Lowes,) white subway tile, and a pop of color on the mirror.  Not sure that we'd do pink but maybe some else bold like red or chartreuse.

black bathtub, subway tiles on the wall. have the subway tiles...now if only i could get that bathtub! and if only our bathroom was this spacious...

What I like: predominantly bright white space with pops of color, the subway tile with gray grout, and the shower curtain (bummer that it's no longer available.)

Here's muh boyfriend with the power tools he got last Christmas.  Lookin' good boyfriend!

PERFECT! vanity, towels, mirror, light fixture, everything.

What I like: light paint with dark vanity and floating shelves above the toilet.

We've already made quite a few choices and are hoping everything turns out.
